Circular November
Circularity Month: giving our collections a new lease of life.
CIRCULARITY AT YSÉ
Circularity means making a garment last as long as possible, and making sure nothing goes to waste. It plays out at every stage: in the way we design our pieces, in the services we offer to help you care for them, and right through to their recycling.
Where does Ysé stand? November is our month to talk about it.
It all starts with design
A circular piece is, first and foremost, a well-made piece: designed to last, and not one you replace in a hurry. That is why we pay close attention to the quality of our materials and choose our suppliers with care. We also offer our Acte II collections, created from our roll ends and turned into limited editions.
Our challenges. Staying ever vigilant about quality. And designing our pieces with their end of life already in mind: seams that come apart, pieces that are easier to repair and to recycle… It is up to us to set ourselves these rules, step by step, over the coming years.
Then: the garment lives with you
Once the piece is in your hands, circularity becomes a shared story, made of simple gestures.
Caring, first of all: washing less often, at the right temperature, extends the life of the fibres and reduces the release of microplastics. The most everyday gesture, and one of the most effective. To help, we share care guides on our website.
Repairing, next: an underwire poking through or a hole in the lace does not spell the end for a garment. Since June 2024, our repair service has been completely free, with Les Réparables, a women's workshop in the Vendée. Since the start of 2026, that means 2 pieces repaired every day.
Passing on, finally: with our Seconde Vie project, you drop off your pieces in store. Each garment is checked at our warehouse, then sent to our partner to be cleaned, repaired and finally adopted again at pop-ups in our shops. In 2025, more than 4,600 pieces collected and 5,000 sold.
Our challenges. Making these services better known so they can grow, so that repairing a bra or giving a dress a second life becomes second nature, and carries its full weight in our business model.
Behind all this lies work that takes many hands. Every day, our teams and partners sort the returned pieces one by one, transport them, send out the supplies needed for a careful repair, check what comes back and keep track of our customers' satisfaction.
Then comes the hardest part: recycling
This is the stage that concerns the whole industry, which is still feeling its way. Recycling a garment is far more complex than it seems, and lingerie is the most telling example: many materials are combined in a single piece (underwires, lace, elastane…).
This is not a challenge anyone can meet alone. In France, collection, sorting and recycling are organised within a collective framework run by Refashion, the state-approved eco-organisation: brands contribute to it, and these funds finance the development of the sector. It is a model in the midst of change, matching the scale of a challenge that still lies largely ahead of us.
Our challenges. At our own scale, finding a way to give new value to our defective pieces, those too damaged to join Seconde Vie.
Circularity is a chain of shared gestures: ours, in design and behind the scenes; yours, when you care for your pieces, repair them or give them a second life.
